Helpsheet for NUIM Email Access from an Apple PD Device

Accessing University Email from an Apple PD Device
(e.g. Apple iPhone or iPad)
Setting up your Apple iPhone or iPad to access NUI Maynooth’s Email Server to gain access to your University Email Account
Setting up your Apple PD Device as an IMAP Email Client:
From the device’s Desktop (ie Home Screen):
1. On the device’s Desktop select ‘Settings’
Screen 1:
2. Now select ‘Mail, Contacts, Calendars’
Screen 2:
3. Under the ‘Accounts’ tab - Select ‘Add Account…’
Screen 3:
4. Now select ‘Other’
Screen 4:
5. Under the ‘Mail’ tab - Select ‘Add Mail Account’
Screen 5:
6. Now enter details as follows:
- Name: Enter your name in standard form (eg John Murphy)
- Address: Enter your NUIM Email Address (eg john.murphy@nuim.ie)
- Password: Enter the Password for your NUIM Email Account
- Description: Enter an identifier for this account (Suggested entry is NUIM Email)
Screen 6:
7. Leave default selection of IMAP on top of screen active
8. Under the ‘Incoming Mail Server’ tab - Enter:
- Host Name: Enter ‘imap.nuim.ie’
- User Name: Enter your NUIM Email Username (eg jmurphy)
- Password : Enter the password for your NUIM Email Account
9. Under the ‘Outgoing Mail Server’ tab - Enter:
- Host Name: Enter ‘smtp.nuim.ie’
- User Name: Enter your NUIM Email Username (eg jmurphy)
- Password: Enter the Password for your NUIM Email Account
10. Now select ‘Next’ on the Top Right Corner of Screen
