New Computer Centre Mailing List
The Computer Centre has set up a new mailing list called cc-notices that will be used
to publish urgent or useful information concerning the University's computer and
network
services.
The mailing list will inform subscribers of interruptions to services,
both major
outages affecting the
whole campus and minor outages that have limited impact.
The list will also be used for warnings
about issues such as phishing attacks or dangerous
viruses and for announcing new features or
forthcoming events. Finally, the list will be
used
to announce the Computer Centre's regular newsletter.
Subscribers to the mailing list can decide which messages they wish to receive.
Using the
mailinglist's
Topic feature, subscribers can opt to receive all messages or just
those
messages
that they are particularly
interested in, such as major outages and warnings.

The new mailing list will replace the three existing lists for outages, newsletter and virus warnings, which will cease to exist.
